This Sculpture Oyster Platter has been hand crafted with a blend of 5 different clay bodies resulting in an earthy brown mushroom tone and glazed with unique glossy glaze resembling Oyster Shells.

This piece was titled "Undertow" and was selected as a finalist in the 2025 SWELL Art Prize.

Artist's Statement for "Undertow"

A sculptural ceramic piece inspired by the unseen forces beneath the ocean’s surface. The fluid, undulating form captures the push and pull of water currents, mirroring the way waves carve and shape the coastline over time.

With a surface finish reminiscent of sea-washed rock and tidal pools, this piece explores movement and erosion as a meditative process. The interplay of smooth curves and deep recesses invites touch, making it as much a tactile experience as a visual one. "Undertow" reflects the quiet power of nature’s constant transformation—subtle, yet inevitable.
